Juneteenth NJ Celebration is a huge three-day event that celebrates the liberation of African Americans in the United States alongside community and culture. Founded by Isaiah Thomas, Jola Babalola, and Stevens Germain, the Juneteenth NJ events have brought in guests from not only other states, but other countries as well such as Trinidad and Canada. With safety on the founders' minds, they created these events where black people can enjoy themselves unapologetically and celebrate their culture, their talent, and their joy.
From June 17-19, the entire community came together to celebrate the Jersey way. It kicked off with the pop-shop and block party at Brown Mill located at 49 Halsey Street in Newark which gave guests a chance for networking among peers before heading into the festival weekend with an opportunity to purchase exclusive merchandise that will be available only during this time jubilant time of the year.

Exclusive Interview with Adrianna Lea and Brown Mill Company
"When we all come together, we know how to have a great time!" Adrianna Lea expressed energetically about her experience overall with Juneteenth NJ for 2022.
Juneteenth was previously held in Jersey City at Liberty State Park, but this year, their biggest day took place at American Dream Mall in East Rutherford. Over twenty thousand people were estimated to have attended Sunday's festival as they enjoyed everything from food trucks and authentic cuisine to black-owned business vendors with incredible deals on their products.
There were also live performances throughout the day; some of our favorites for the culture such as Unicorn, and Chad Piff with Snatched Agency's dancers, Kia Bhn, Topaz Jones, Just Blaze, Dana Lu, AmNija, and more took the stage.
With host Moneta-Kai, the crowd stayed engaged meanwhile the DJs Kia Bhn, LilMan, Flygerian, Beloved, MoreSoupPlease, and Showcase kept the crowd dancing and turned with energy during the 9-hour show celebration in the Garden State.
There was music and dancing all day long, as well as delicious food and drink vendors. The atmosphere and energy was electric. It was clear that everyone was having a great time in the crowd from the view, and the ambiance.
If you missed out on the Juneteenth New Jersey Celebration this year, be sure to mark your calendar for next year. Trust me, it's an event you won't want to miss!
